With only days remaining in 2010, it’s time for my year-in-review post. As compared to previous years, this year’s review has more to love. You’ll still see my favorite posts from the year (and be able to cast your vote for 2010’s Pick of the Patch). But you’ll also find some fascinating blog stats (if you like that sort of thing) and a summary of all the fun things I got to do in this cyberspace community.
If you feel inspired to post your own year-end summary, be sure to link up here to let me know.
Here’s a final HT to 2010. And be sure to stop by later this week for a look ahead to 2011!

Blog Adventures 2010
The readings I chose for the Social Justice Challenge changed the way I view money and my purpose in life.
January was dedicated to another round of Ann Kroeker’s Mega Memory Month—I meditated on some verses and reaped the benefit of God’s Word corralling my thoughts.
There were two book clubs that captured my fancy in 2010, both hosted at High Calling Blogs. In the spring, we read The Right to Write by Julia Cameron; in the fall, we read Made to Stick by Chip and Dan Heath.
In May, I got new business cards (500 of them!) and I used the graphics to give my blog a facelift. Then in June, Verizon announced all its e-mail accounts in my area would be sold to Frontier . . . thereby making my business cards pointless. Since I had to change everything anyhow, I took the opportunity to transfer my blog to its own domain and got a new e-mail account to match it. Then I got new business cards. Again.
The launch of my post series on word usage was a hit! Which Word Wednesday debuted in August and has produced the highest traffic and interaction my blog has ever seen. It has been great fun to make connections with other word enthusiasts each week.
All this blogging produced an invitation from Revive Our Hearts to attend its September True Woman ’10 conference as a guest blogger (a highlight of my writing career).
My love for reading and blogging mixed with Dewey’s Read-a-Thon in October. The best part was staying up all night to read with dear friends who also love a good book.

Don’t get caught up on looking back. Look forward to the future and embrace all it has to give.
Whoa, that’s a good one. But I do see value in looking back—so many lessons to learn from, special memories to cherish . . . that, and I need closure! But living life looking in the review mirror is dangerous. So come on back later this week and I’ll have a heavy dose of looking ahead for you! —es

I have to admit, there are quite a number to chose from and I truly enjoyed “Prayer Is Not a Token for the Divine Wish Machine”, and always look forward to your Which Word Wednesday, however my sustainable choice is What is a true woman anyway?”— dated Sept 28, 2010. Yip, I copied that 3 paragraph synopsis and it remains hanging up on the refrigerator. It is a good visual reminder of character and spiritual development–where we want to be. Thanks for 2010 and continue to look forward to your posts of 2011.
Best,

Glad the offerings here at the patch have been helpful and fun over the past year! I hope to give more of the same in 2011. Blogging, here I come. —es
