2012 at The Patch

Infographics speak my language, making stats and figures attractive and bright. That’s why I’ve been looking forward to the infographic summarizing my 2012 blogging life here at The Patch.

Here’s an excerpt from the report:

4,329 films were submitted to the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. This blog had 25,000 views in 2012. If each view were a film, this blog would power 6 Film Festivals.

How great is that?! It’s humbling that my musings were viewed so often. And it reminds me of the responsibility I have to live a life worthy of the calling—because people are actually stopping here to read my musings! What a privilege and joy this writing life is. Thanks for being part it.

2012 Blog Adventures

Writing at Christ and Pop Culture: This is where you can find my Mixed Signals column (on marketing’s influence upon us) as well as general cultural commentary. In 2012, I wrote about how prayer affects the brain, our desire for approval, and faking disabilities to skip airport lines.

Writing for True Woman: Late in the summer, I was asked to be a guest writer for the True Woman blog. So far I’ve written about turning 40, FOMO, fasting, and childlessness. In September, I served once again on the blog team for the True Woman conference, providing coverage from my blog and writing a summary of Elyse Fitzpatrick’s breakout session for the TW blog.

Comfort Detox Project: During the month of October, I participated in the 31 Days project hosted by Nesting Place. Each day, I wrote about comfort’s influence and sway over the way we think and feel and make decisions. Much of what I wrote is feeding a writing project I’m digging into right now.
